The Shallow Ford Foundation is pleased to announce that the Historic Richmond Hill Law School has been selected as the latest partner in the Foundation's nonprofit endowment partnerships, helping the organization strengthen its long-term sustainability and preserve its mission for future generations.
Through this opportunity, the Historic Richmond Hill Law School has established a nonprofit endowment fund at the Shallow Ford Foundation. Unlike annual fundraising efforts that often address immediate needs, endowment funds are invested and managed to create a lasting source of support. The nonprofit remains the beneficiary of the fund, while the Foundation provides investment stewardship, gift administration, and oversight.
"The Historic Richmond Hill Law School plays a unique and important role in preserving local history in Yadkin County while creating opportunities for education and learning," said Emmy Corn, President and CEO of the Shallow Ford Foundation. "We're excited to partner with the organization as it builds a permanent resource that can support its mission well into the future."
Historic Richmond Hill Law School joins three other local nonprofits, Compassion Care Center, Hands of Hope Medical Clinic, and New Horizons Adult Day Services, in partnering with the Foundation through a special matching initiative designed to help local nonprofits begin building endowment resources. Through this opportunity, the Foundation is coming alongside these organizations as they invite donors, businesses, and community supporters to invest in their missions.
Located in East Bend, the Historic Richmond Hill Law School preserves a significant historic site. Originally established in the 1840’s by Chief Justice of the North Carolina Supreme Court Richmond Mumford Pearson, the school today serves as both a historic landmark and an educational resource, connecting visitors to the region's rich heritage.
