At the Shallow Ford Foundation, generosity becomes impact. When people come together to invest in their community, their contributions do more than meet immediate needs—they create momentum, expand opportunity, and build a foundation for lasting change. Our process reflects that belief: simple, transparent, and designed to turn local giving into long-term impact.

Education
Education Funds for Local Schools
Permanent, school-based funds provide a steady source of support for creative, innovative classroom projects. These funds empower teachers to dream big and inspire students in new ways.

Shore Scholars Program
Launched in 2019 in partnership with Yadkin County Schools, Shore Scholars expands opportunity by helping students see and pursue what’s possible after high school. The program ensures every participant has a pathway—and the confidence—to succeed in continuing education. Underwritten by the Wayne A. Shore Endowment Fund.

A skilled trade can change a life, and strengthen a community. This program equips graduating community college students with professional-grade tools, helping them step into essential careers with confidence and readiness.

At times, the Shallow Ford Foundation helps move new ideas forward when a community need is identified. Our role is to support early momentum and then transition these efforts to organizations best equipped to sustain them long-term.

Expanding Child Care in Yadkin County
Since 2021, the Shallow Ford Foundation has worked diligently alongside community partners to address the growing need for child care in Yadkin County, helping research, shape, and advance an innovative facility locally known as Mama Jewell's ChildPlex. This includes publishing a comprehensive report on the state of child care in our communities. Today, the initiative is moving forward under the leadership of local partners, with the Foundation continuing to support its progress through the Expanding Child Care Fund and ongoing board engagement.
Leadership Lewisville-Clemmons
The Shallow Ford Foundation helped launch Leadership Lewisville-Clemmons to create opportunities for developing local leaders and strengthening connections within our community. Today, the program is led by the Lewisville-Clemmons Chamber of Commerce, and we are proud to have played a role in its beginnings and continued growth—contact the Chamber for more information about getting involved.
CLASS
The Shallow Ford Foundation helped support the early development of CLASS (Clemmons and Lewisville Action for Student Success), a community-wide effort bringing together schools, faith partners, and local organizations to meet the needs of students and families. Today, CLASS operates under the leadership of Love Out Loud Winston-Salem, with the Foundation continuing to support its work by stewarding charitable funds and encouraging its continued impact in the community.
