The Shallow Ford Foundation is a community foundation that exists to bring people and resources together to meaningfully transform the northwest piedmont region of North Carolina (Clemmons, Lewisville, Yadkin County, Stokes, etc.). We help donors turn their values into action by creating personalized giving opportunities that align with their passions and goals.

Our History
Founded in 2004 as the Clemmons Rotary Foundation, we became the Clemmons Community Foundation in 2012 to expand our reach. In 2021, we adopted the name Shallow Ford Foundation to reflect our broader service area and deeper community impact.
Our Name
The Shallow Ford was once a vital pebble‑bottom crossing on the Yadkin River, used for centuries by Native Americans, settlers, farmers, and travelers along the Great Wagon Road — a key route that helped shape the growth of our region. The Shallow Ford once connected communities — and so do we. Our name symbolizes our role as a bridge between people, ideas, and resources, working together to build a stronger future.
