The Shallow Ford Foundation is proud to support students at every stage of their educational journey. Through the generosity of local donors, families, and community partners, we offer a wide range of scholarships that reflect many different interests, backgrounds, and career paths. Whether you’re a high school senior, a current college student, or an adult returning to school, our goal is to make pursuing your education more accessible — and to celebrate the promise and potential of students across Clemmons, Lewisville, Yadkin County, and the surrounding communities.
Scholarship types may include:
- Merit-based and need-based scholarships
- Awards for students from specific schools or communities
- Support for career paths such as healthcare, education, skilled trades, and more
- Scholarships established in honor or memory of local individuals and families
- Opportunities for adult learners and non-traditional students returning to school

To make the process easier for students and families, Shallow Ford Foundation partners with local schools to offer universal scholarship applications. These applications allow students to apply for multiple local scholarships through one streamlined process, helping increase awareness and access to available opportunities.

Thad and Mary Bingham Education Assistance Award For High School Seniors
Graduating senior from West Forsyth High School with demonstrated financial need and a clear desire to pursue additional education toward an occupational credential or degree. Two awards are available.

Forsyth County high school graduate planning to attend Forsyth Tech or Winston-Salem State University. Must demonstrate significant financial need. Preference given to applicants who attended Cook Elementary School.

Leslie Martin Scholarship
Graduating senior from West Forsyth High School who has been an active member of the Interact Club of the Clemmons Rotary Club and/or a CTE Concentrator (completed at least two credits in a Career Pathway, including a completer or second-level course). Must be involved in meaningful volunteer activities and have an interest in innovative technology. Preference given to business or technology-related majors.

Mason H. Hunter Vocational Educational Scholarship of the Lewisville-Clemmons Chamber of Commerce
Graduating senior from West Forsyth, Reagan, or North Davidson High School, planning to attend a 2-year or 4-year program leading to a degree or certification in a trade, technical, or vocational field with a clear career pathway.

Forsyth County student who is a graduating senior or adult student seeking a degree or credential in a healthcare field.

Coach Murph Scholarship
Graduating student athlete at West Forsyth High School who demonstrates qualities of good character, hard work, leadership, and resilience—both on the field, in the classroom, and in the community. Preference for applicants with unmet financial need and a connection to Coach Murph.

Sharrod Patterson Memorial Scholarship
Graduating high school senior from Quality Education Academy planning to attend a 4-year college or university. Preference for students interested in teaching, technology, or history. Must demonstrate a strong history of community service and financial need not met by other opportunities.

Timothy M. Dunn Memorial Scholarship
Current or recent graduate of West Forsyth High School who wrestled at the school or supported a wrestling program within or outside of WFHS for at least two seasons. Minimum 2.5 Unweighted GPA; exceptional work ethic and positive attitude

Graduating senior from West Forsyth High School committed to environmental stewardship, sustainable practices, and preservation of natural parks and ecosystems. Applicants should show participation in related activities or community projects. Financial need is not required.

Graduating senior from West Forsyth High School demonstrating a commitment to fostering friendship, building community, and promoting a love of reading and libraries. Applicants should show how reading and library experiences have shaped their interests. Financial need not required.

Yadkin Civic Club Scholarship
Available to two eligible graduating seniors—one from Forbush High School and one from Starmount High School. The award prioritizes candidates with demonstrated financial need and a strong history of outstanding voluntary service, with preference given to active members of the Junior Civic Club.

Two awards are available for High School seniors graduating from Forbush High School or Starmount High School, pursuing a degree or certificate in electronics, welding, or construction. May enroll full- or part-time. Must demonstrate financial need, career motivation, and good character.

Live Like Norah Memorial Scholarship
Graduating senior from Forbush or Starmount High School planning to attend a two- or four-year institution. Recipients demonstrate academic excellence, involvement in athletics and clubs, and a commitment to service and positivity reflecting Norah’s legacy. Preference for students pursuing a bachelor’s degree.

Bonnie M. Chappell Memorial Scholarship
Graduating senior from Forbush or Starmont High School seeking to continue education toward a nursing degree or credential at a community college or 4-year institution. Scholarship funds may be used for tuition, books, fees, technology, supplies, or other direct course-related expenses.

Alpha and Omega Corn Maze Scholarship
Graduating senior who has worked ≥ 50 hours at Alpha & Omega Corn Maze in the last three seasons; pursuing a two- or four‑year degree or credential—priority to agriculture‑related fields.

The Wayne C. Matthews Continuing Education Award
Adult student who is a resident of or employed in Yadkin County and enrolled full- or part-time at Surry Community College in a credential-producing program leading to an in-demand occupation. Preference for students attending the Yadkin Campus.

Salem Glen College Assistance Program
The program awards financial assistance with a two-year degree or career certification program from Forsyth Tech or DDCC. Also, it provides a mentor pairing to scholarship recipients to help the student navigate their education and career path. Mentors will be selected volunteers from the Salem Glen neighborhood.
